  • Schedule & Work Environment: Full-time, 40 hours/week (Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm), with one weekend per month and alternating holidays. Must be flexible to float between units including Medical Step Down, Postpartum, and Labor & Delivery Triage.
  • Required Experience: Minimum 2 years post-MSW experience in emergency departments, ICU, critical care, case management, or medical social work. Must be comfortable responding to trauma cases, providing bereavement support, and working with patients facing severe injuries or end-of-life situations.
  • Preferred Skills: Experience in cultural responsiveness, brief treatment methods (e.g., motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy), trauma support, mandated reporting, and managing complex psychosocial issues (housing, immigration, financial insecurity).
  • Core Responsibilities: Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, provide trauma-informed and patient-centered support, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, attend multidisciplinary rounds, and support family meetings and advanced care planning.
  • Certifications & Setting: Must hold an MSW and Massachusetts LCSW. Role is based in a high-volume Emergency Department (30-40 beds), working closely with nurse case managers and other professionals to address social determinants of health and reduce discharge barriers.Schedule & Work Environment: Full-time, 40 hours/week (Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm), with one weekend per month and alternating holidays.
